America loves the Honda Accord. Year after year, the Honda Accord retains its place as a beloved, best-selling mid-size sedan cherished for its reliability and long-lasting value. So how do you improve a vehicle that’s already at the top of its game? By making it faster, smarter, and more fuel-efficient than ever before. The 2018 Honda Accord, available at South Bay Honda — serving Milpitas and the East Bay Area — delivers an amplified Accord experience. Completely redesigned for 2018, here are a few Accord upgrades that were well worth the wait.
Three Powertrain Options
The 2018 Honda Accord offers three advanced powertrains: a 1.5L engine, 2.0L turbocharged engine, and a two-motor hybrid system. You’ll notice the V6 engine of yesteryear is no longer an option and if you were a fan, then we’re sorry to inform you, it’s gone for good. But don’t stress, in its place is the 2.0L turbocharged engine that delivers 250 horsepower and is paired with an all-new 10-speed automatic transmission. With all that power you’ll get there and you’ll get there fast. The base 1.5L engine offers 192 horsepower and is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission or a six-speed manual transmission if you opt for the Sport trim, providing a peppy ride at even the base level.
More Smart Tech
The most technologically advanced Accord yet has improved everything from performance to drive quality to passenger safety. For starters, Honda Sensing — Honda’s advanced suite of safety technology — is now standard on all Accord models. Honda Sensing includes:
- Collision Mitigation Braking System™
- Road Departure Mitigation System
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Lane Keeping Assist System
- Traffic Sign Recognition
Additionally, all models include a multi-angle reversing camera for backup and parking assistance, much needed for tight spots and crowded, urban travels. Plus, upgrades to the Accord’s suspension and insulation system — including acoustic glass and a new active noise cancelling system — make for an overall smoother, quieter ride. And, the addition of a 7- or 8-inch touchscreen mounted on the dashboard makes it easy to control your Accord’s tech features with the tap of a finger or by using the physical turn knobs.
The 2018 Accord Hybrid offers a more fuel-efficient option while retaining all the reliability Accords are known for and the new smart tech that sets the 2018 Accord apart from its predecessors. Although EPA estimates are not yet available for the new 2.0 turbocharged engine, the base 1.5L engine, when paired with either the six-speed manual or continuously variable automatic transmission, received a 30/33 city/highway mpg† EPA rated estimate.
